Arab League Secretary-General: Reckless Iranian attacks are an overt attempt to expand the conflict and destabilize the region

The Secretary-General of the Arab League, Nabil Fahmy, warned today, Saturday, about the repercussions of Iran’s culpable and reckless attacks on several Arab states, particularly in the Gulf region, affirming that they represent an overt attempt to expand the scope of conflict and undermine security and stability in the region.

In a statement, Fahmy expressed full rejection of this unjustified Iranian aggression, considering that the escalating pace of Iran’s brazen attacks on Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Jordan, and the Kurdistan Region of Iraq reflects an aggressive approach that cannot be ignored or tolerated.

He condemned the Iranian attacks that targeted infrastructure and vital facilities in these countries, affirming that these attacks constitute a blatant violation of the sovereignty of Arab states, international law, and principles of good neighborliness, and reflect Iranian policies based on miscalculations and a distorted reading of reality.

He stressed that any attack on any Arab state is an attack on Arab national security and the collective interests of the Arab nation, calling on Iran to immediately cease these attacks and stop fomenting tensions, spreading chaos, and threatening navigation security through its proxies in the region.

He reaffirmed the League’s full solidarity with Arab states and its support for them in facing dangerous challenges that threaten their sovereignty and harm their interests and Arab national security, as well as its backing of all measures taken by Arab states to safeguard their security and stability.
