GCC Secretary-General: Targeting Kuwait's infrastructure and civilian facilities constitutes war crimes requiring accountability

Condemned the treacherous Iranian attacks on Kuwait, Bahrain, and Jordan, and affirmed that the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states stand united with them.

The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jassem Al-Budaiwi, expressed today, on Saturday, his strongest condemnation of the treacherous Iranian attacks that targeted the State of Kuwait, the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, including attacks on infrastructure and civilian facilities, which resulted in injuries to several civilian workers in Kuwait.

In a statement, Al-Budaiwi said that Iran’s actions constitute a highly dangerous escalation and a serious violation of international law and the UN Charter, amounting to war crimes that warrant international accountability and prosecution, due to the targeting of infrastructure and civilian facilities, in blatant violation of all international norms and conventions, and with the intent of undermining the security and stability of the region.
