Minister of Electricity Inspects Damage from the Brutal Attack at the Power Station and Water Desalination Plant

The Minister of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy, Dr. Subaih Abdulaziz Al-Muhammadi, the Governor of Ahmadi, Sheikh Hamad Jaber Al-Sabah, and the Deputy Minister, Dr. Adel Mohammed Al-Zamil, conducted an inspection visit to the site of the incident at the power and water desalination plant. The visit aimed to assess on-site the damage caused by the brutal attack, monitor the progress of response and emergency operations, and review the technical measures taken to contain the incident’s repercussions, thereby contributing to maintaining the stability of the country’s electricity and water systems.

During the visit, officials received a detailed technical briefing on the nature of the damages, the urgent measures implemented since the first moments of the incident, as well as the rehabilitation and repair plans underway to restore damaged units to service in accordance with the highest standards of efficiency and safety.

They also closely observed the efforts of security, safety, and firefighting teams, as well as the engineering and technical personnel working at the site, commending the rapid response and high efficiency demonstrated by the field teams, and their continuous round-the-clock efforts to restore normal conditions as quickly as possible.

Al-Muhammadiya emphasized that the ministry is operating at full capacity, deploying all its technical and human resources in coordination with relevant authorities to ensure the continuity of electricity and water production and to mitigate any potential repercussions of the incident. He praised the dedication and loyalty of the workers in fulfilling their national duty.

At the conclusion of the visit, Al-Muhammadiya directed the continuation of assessment and repair works in accordance with the highest standards of quality and safety, while maintaining close on-site monitoring and accelerating the pace of operations, with the goal of addressing all consequences of the incident and restoring damaged units to their normal operational status.
