Bahrain strongly condemns repeated Iranian attacks on its territory, as well as those on Kuwait, Qatar, and Jordan

The Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed on Friday its condemnation and strong denunciation of the repeated, heinous Iranian attacks that targeted civilian and vital infrastructure in the Kingdom of Bahrain, the State of Kuwait, the State of Qatar, and Jordan with missiles and drones. These attacks were characterized as a serious escalation that threatens the safety of civilians, regional security, and stability, and constitutes a blatant violation of the rules of international law, the United Nations Charter, and the principles of good neighborliness.

In a statement, the Ministry affirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s full solidarity with sister states and its support for their right to take all lawful measures to defend their sovereignty, security, and stability, and to protect citizens and residents on their territories, in accordance with international law, Article 51 of the UN Charter, and the Joint Defense Agreement of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states.

The Ministry also expressed its appreciation for the efficiency, high readiness, and capability of the Bahrain Defense Force and the air defense forces of regional states in confronting the heinous Iranian attacks and defending the sovereignty of their countries and the achievements of their peoples.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs renewed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s call upon the international community, particularly the Security Council, to take firm and deterrent measures to compel Iran to cease its treacherous hostile actions, ensure the security, safety, and freedom of maritime navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, and hold it fully accountable under international laws, the UN Charter, Security Council Resolution 2817, and Human Rights Council Resolution 1/61, thereby enhancing security, stability, peace, and sustainable development in the region and worldwide.
