“Foreign Ministry”: Continuation of Aggressive Approach Represents a Highly Dangerous Escalation Threatening Regional Security and Stability
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the State of Kuwait’s strongest condemnation and rejection of the culpable Iranian aggression by missiles and drones that targeted Kuwaiti territory today, Friday, July 17, 2026, striking one of the power and water desalination stations, resulting in a fire and causing damage to several electricity generation units. This constitutes a blatant violation of Kuwait’s sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity, as well as a grave breach of international law, international humanitarian law, the UN Charter, and UN Security Council Resolution 2817 of 2026.

The Ministry stressed Kuwait’s inherent right to take the necessary measures to safeguard its sovereignty and maintain its security and stability, in accordance with the provisions of international law.
