Food Authority: 315 violation reports issued for serious food violations in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh

The Kuwait General Authority for Food and Nutrition issued 315 violation reports concerning infractions at food establishments in the Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh area, which involved “serious violations” such as trading expired and adulterated food products, and operating establishments without licenses.

In a press statement on Thursday, the Food Authority said it participated in the expanded security campaign carried out yesterday in the Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh area, under the direct supervision of the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahad Youssef Al-Saud Al-Sabah. The campaign involved 11 government entities to enhance security and safeguard public health.

The observed violations included failure to comply with personal and general hygiene requirements, and the circulation of food products without approved health certificates.

The Authority reported the “immediate destruction” of food materials proven to be unfit for consumption, while the violations were referred to the competent authorities.

It noted that its participation in the campaign was represented by inspection teams from the General Administration of Inspection and Control affairs, led by Talal Al-Daihani, Director of the Al-Farwaniya Governorate Inspection Department, with the participation of 102 inspectors.

The Authority pointed out that this campaign marks “the beginning of a continuous supervisory phase that will extend to all governorates of Kuwait,” reaffirming its commitment to applying the law with firmness to ensure a safe and clean food environment.
