Dar al-Shi'r in Marrakech Organizes the 'Poetry Criticism Award'

The Dar al-Shi’r (House of Poetry) in Marrakech announced the organization of the “Poetic Criticism Award” for young Moroccan or foreign critics and researchers residing in Morocco, in its eighth edition (2026/2027).

This award aims to enrich the body of poetic criticism within the realm of scientific and scholarly research by encouraging young talents in the field of research and criticism of Moroccan poetry. The winning studies and research papers will be announced at a major poetry event. In addition to the monetary prizes awarded to the winners, Dar al-Shi’r in Marrakech will cover the publication costs of the winning research papers, retaining the rights to the first edition of these published works.

Participation is open to male and female Moroccan critics and researchers, provided that the participant is no older than 42 years of age. Entries must be submitted in Modern Standard Arabic. The submitted studies and research papers must demonstrate seriousness and adhere to the standards and methodologies of scientific research, with clear footnotes, sources, and references. Furthermore, the works must not have previously won any similar competition.
