In Fayhaa... 'Clean it'
Deputy Prime Minister leads major operation in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh with participation of 11 government entities

Described as potentially the largest in the history of campaigns targeting violations in the area, and marking the "beginning of a new and different phase characterized by firmness, reform, and authority," the Ministry of Interior launched a major security operation in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh under the direct field supervision of First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef. The operation features unprecedented participation from 11 government entities, including the four military branches (the Army, Police, National Guard, and Fire Force).
The campaign targeted the apprehension of violators, removal of encroachments, and the establishment of the authority of the law. It involved imposing a complete security cordon around the area, arresting those violating residency laws and fugitives from justice, monitoring encroachments on state property, identifying non-compliant buildings, and cracking down on unlicensed commercial activities within private residential areas. Additionally, the operation addressed overcrowded housing lacking safety and security standards, thereby mitigating risks and preserving lives.
The campaign also included cutting off electricity and utility services to non-compliant properties and taking legal action against their owners, coinciding with a comprehensive monitoring of violations to facilitate the completion of regulatory procedures.
In adherence to humanitarian considerations, fully equipped shelter centers providing all essential services were prepared to receive families and communities evacuated from non-compliant or dilapidated buildings, ensuring their safety and providing them with safe alternatives.
Speaking on the sidelines of the campaign, the First Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that "Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh represents the beginning of a continuous phase of security campaigns that will encompass all governorates," stressing that "the security of the country and the authority of the law are above all else."
Al-Yousef stated that "Kuwait’s reputation is a top priority, and safeguarding the security and safety of everyone living on its soil is a national responsibility that tolerates no laxity." He confirmed that "the campaigns will not be limited to the Jleeb area but will continue to cover various regions experiencing violations or transgressions."
He reiterated that "there is absolutely no tolerance for non-compliant properties," emphasizing that all legal measures will be taken against them, including the demolition of dilapidated and collapsing buildings when necessary, to protect lives and property and to reinforce the rule of law.
Meanwhile, "Al-Siyasa" learned that the Judicial Police team from the Ministry of Electricity, participating in the campaign, cut off electricity to 102 non-compliant properties in the Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh area for violating laws and regulations regarding electricity connections.
