Condolence delegations flock to the Qatari embassy for the second day
A number of Kuwaiti personalities visited the Qatari embassy premises yesterday to offer their condolences on the death of Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, the Amir al-Walid (Father Emir), affirming that Qatar and the Gulf states have lost, with his passing, one of the most prominent leaders who contributed to shaping the region’s renaissance and strengthening its unity.
Sheikha Suha Al Sabah expressed her sincere condolences on the late leader, stating, “We have lost someone very dear to our hearts. We ask God to envelop him in His vast mercy and forgiveness, and to inspire everyone with patience and solace in the face of his loss.”
Businessman Saud Abdulaziz Al-Babtain said, “The loss of Sheikh Hamad is immense and irreplaceable. However, we find comfort in the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and his brothers in continuing the path of construction and renaissance.” He added that “words fail to describe what the deceased contributed to his country,” urging the next generation to continue this journey filled with achievements.
For his part, Abdul Latif Al-Jassar affirmed that the late leader “was an exceptional leader of this era, who gave much to his country and to both the Arab and Islamic nations, leaving a political and developmental legacy that history will bear witness to.”
In his capacity as ambassador, Abdulaziz Al-Sharikh conveyed his heartfelt condolences to His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and to the Qatari people, affirming that “the Father Emir was one of the most prominent symbols of politics in the Arabian Gulf region and played a major role in enhancing Gulf cohesion and unity, as well as consolidating fraternal relations among the Gulf Cooperation Council states.”
Counselor Ali Al-Mutairi also conveyed his sincere condolences to His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad and to the Qatari people, noting that the deceased “was a prominent Arab figure who left significant marks and achievements at the local, Arab, and international levels, and his name will remain associated with the renaissance of modern Qatar and the progress and development it has achieved.”
Samy Al-Nisf, deputy editor-in-chief of Al-Nahar newspaper, affirmed that “the wealth of nations remains, but great men are irreplaceable. In this great tragedy, we console ourselves before we console the Qatari people and the Gulf peoples. A statesman of the highest caliber and the builder of modern Qatar’s renaissance has passed away.” He noted that the newspaper had met the late leader on several occasions and benefited from his opinions and vision, calling on God to envelop him in His vast mercy and forgiveness.
Tunisian Ambassador: Left an enduring political and developmental footprint
Mohamed Al-Boudali, the Ambassador of the Tunisian Republic to Kuwait, conveyed his sincere condolences to the sister state of Qatar, affirming that the death of the Father Emir represents a major loss due to the indelible marks he left on Qatar’s renaissance and the enhancement of its status regionally, domestically, and internationally.
He stated that the deceased’s contributions extended to political, economic, and diplomatic fields, and that he played a pivotal role in building the state on various levels. He expressed his sincere condolences to his brothers in Qatar, affirming that his memory will remain immortal thanks to the achievements he accomplished.
