The Embassy of the State of Qatar in Kuwait has transformed into a hub for renewing loyalty to the journey of His Highness the Amir Father Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. Ambassadors, diplomats, and officials flocked to offer their condolences, affirming that the late leader left a prominent political and developmental legacy that contributed to the modern renaissance of Qatar and enhanced its regional and international standing, alongside his role in supporting Gulf and Arab cooperation and consolidating his country’s relations with various nations around the world. The embassy received crowds of mourners amidst feelings of sorrow and appreciation for the late leader’s contributions to serving his country and regional issues.

European and American Praise for the Amir Father’s Legacy

The European Union Ambassador, Ann Questin, expressed sincere condolences and sympathies to the government and people of the State of Qatar upon the passing of the late Amir Father Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, by God’s mercy.

Questin stated that the EU’s relations with Qatar are characterized by strength and closeness, emphasizing the EU’s high respect for the late leader, who was known for his moderate voice in the region.

The European ambassador conveyed her condolences to the Qatari leadership and people, praying to God to envelop the deceased in His vast mercy.

For his part, the Acting US Ambassador, Steve Baitler, expressed his deep sorrow over the passing of the late Amir Father Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, by God’s mercy, praising his role in building modern Qatar.

Baitler said that Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani was a visionary leader who contributed to shaping the Qatar known to the world today, affirming that his passing represents a major loss.

He added that his relationship with the late leader had a personal dimension, noting that his first diplomatic assignment was in the Qatari capital, Doha, where he had the honor of meeting the Amir Father several times during that period.

Baitler affirmed that the memory of Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani would remain present, expressing his condolences and sympathies to Qatar’s leadership and people.

The UN Resident Coordinator in Kuwait, Ghada Taher, also conveyed her sincere condolences and sympathies to the government and people of the State of Qatar upon the passing of the late Amir Father Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, by God’s mercy.

Arab and Gulf Stances Confirm His Historical Status

The Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Sinan Al-Mujalli, affirmed that the late Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani left indelible marks on the path of Qatar’s renaissance, contributing to enhancing its regional and international standing, while also supporting efforts for Arab cooperation and solidarity.

Al-Mujalli stated that the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, in its leadership, government, and people, extends sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathy to His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of Qatar, as well as to the ruling family and the brotherly Qatari people, praying to God Almighty to grant the deceased His abundant mercy and to admit him into the vastness of Paradise.

He noted that the Jordanian Embassy’s participation in offering condolences reflects the depth of the fraternal relations between the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the State of Qatar, as well as the bonds of love and mutual respect between the two brotherly peoples.

Al-Mujalli concluded his statement by praying to God Almighty to grant the bereaved family and the brotherly Qatari people the best of patience and solace.

For his part, the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Mohamed Abou El Wafa, expressed profound sorrow and grief over the passing of the late Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, by the leave of God, affirming that the deceased made significant contributions to Qatar’s renaissance and its remarkable development and progress.

Abou El Wafa stated that the late Sheikh played a prominent role at the Gulf, Arab, and international levels, noting that Qatar witnessed a distinctive developmental trajectory during his reign that established it as a leading model in the region.

He added that Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi will visit Qatar to offer condolences to His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and to share the Qatari leadership and people in their grief over this tragic loss.

Similarly, the Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman, Dr. Saleh Al-Kharousi, affirmed that His Highness the late Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani was among the most prominent leaders who contributed to Qatar’s renaissance, playing a pivotal role in supporting the progress of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and enhancing joint Gulf action.

Dr. Al-Kharousi stated that the late Sheikh left a significant legacy in supporting the path of development and Gulf cooperation, while also contributing to consolidating fraternal relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the State of Qatar, in a manner that serves the interests of both countries and their brotherly peoples and strengthens the unity of the Gulf system.

For his part, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Salah Al-Malki, affirmed that the passing of the late Sheikh represents a major loss for Qatar and for both the Arab and Islamic nations, due to the legacy he left behind, filled with achievements and contributions in service of his country and nation.

Al-Malki noted that the late Sheikh dedicated his life to serving his country and contributed to achieving comprehensive renaissance in Qatar, while enhancing its regional and international standing. He emphasized that the ties between Bahrain and Qatar transcend neighborhood relations to encompass familial bonds and a shared destiny, making this loss a source of common grief for the two brotherly peoples.

Turkey: A Lasting Legacy and Solid Relations

The Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey, Topaz Nour Sonmez, affirmed that relations between Turkey and the State of Qatar represent a unique model of strategic partnership, noting that His Highness the late Sheikh was the most prominent figure in consolidating these relations and elevating them to unprecedented levels.

She stated that the late Sheikh holds a special place in the hearts of the Turkish people and leadership, and was a statesman with a far-sighted vision who contributed to building modern Qatar’s renaissance and enhancing its presence and standing on the regional and international stage, affirming that his legacy will remain a source of inspiration for future generations.
