Qatari Transport: Temporary suspension of sailing and marine activities
The Qatari Ministry of Transport issued a circular on Sunday ordering a temporary suspension of sailing and marine activities, in the interest of public safety.
In a statement on its official X (formerly Twitter) account, the ministry said, “In the interest of public safety, the Ministry of Transport calls upon all owners and users of marine vessels, including leisure boats, fishing boats, jet skis, and other similar marine craft, to temporarily suspend sailing and marine activities, effective from the date of this circular until further notice.”
The ministry added that this suspension does not apply to ships subject to international maritime conventions, which may continue their operations in accordance with applicable regulations and procedures.
It emphasized that any updates would be announced through official channels, in coordination with the relevant authorities, noting that this temporary precautionary measure was taken in coordination with the competent security agencies.
