Ambassador Al-Nuaimi: The UAE and Kuwait... Brothers Forever
The Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Kuwait, Dr. Matar Al Neyadi, stated that the visit of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, to his brother, His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, was conducted within the framework of solidarity and support for the sisterly State of Kuwait and its resilience in the face of blatant Iranian aggression. The visit reflects the deep fraternal relations between the two countries, both at the leadership and people levels, and underscores the commitment to continuing consultation and joint coordination.
In a statement to journalists, Al Neyadi said that Kuwait holds a special place in the hearts of the leadership and people of the UAE, noting that this visit at this critical time affirms shared destiny, the exchange of views and advice on various issues, and continuous coordination, emphasizing that “our destiny is one.”
He added that “the UAE and Kuwait are brothers forever,” and that this fraternal visit comes within the context of enduring brotherhood, the exchange of perspectives and advice, and the enhancement of political coordination between the two leaderships. He pointed out that the UAE and Kuwait are bound by solid relations spanning decades, and that the brotherhood between the two nations will remain a fundamental pillar in confronting various challenges.
Responding to a question about coordination between the two countries in international forums, Al Neyadi clarified that “consultation and coordination continue across all levels,” noting that “the Kingdom of Bahrain, as the Arab representative on the UN Security Council, has introduced draft resolutions against these blatant Iranian attacks. These drafts are being consulted and coordinated upon with all countries in the region. Furthermore, joint statements have been issued since the beginning of the crisis rejecting Iranian aggression and its hostile practices toward countries in the region.”
He emphasized that coordination, consultation, communication, and contacts continue at various levels, which is not surprising but stems from the keen desire of the two brotherly countries to strengthen the Gulf position and unify shared regional visions on regional issues, thereby contributing to consolidating security and stability in the region.
Regarding the warm reception accorded to the UAE President upon his arrival in Kuwait, Al Neyadi said that “this step is not unusual. His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed holds a special place in the heart of His Highness the Amir, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and in the hearts of the Kuwaiti political leadership, just as he does in the UAE. The Kuwaiti political leadership, as well as the Kuwaiti government and people, hold a special place in the hearts of the UAE leadership and people. He affirmed that bilateral relations are based on mutual love, respect, shared history, and common destiny.”
He noted that the idea of establishing the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) originated in Kuwait and the UAE, with other GCC member states subsequently supporting this concept, reflecting the depth of the historical partnership between the two countries. He prayed to God Almighty for the continuity of this coordination and communication, adding that the joy of this fraternal visit spread across both Abu Dhabi and Kuwait.
Al Neyadi stressed that “the President of the UAE is the first leader to visit Kuwait since the onset of blatant Iranian aggression against countries in the region.”
