"The Supreme Council for the Judiciary": "Discrimination" cases resolved in 17,434 appeals during the 2025-2026 judicial year
The Supreme Council of the Judiciary stated that the Court of Cassation resolved 17,434 appeals during the 2025/2026 judicial year, representing a 17.7 percent increase compared to the 2024/2025 judicial year, while maintaining the quality of judgment drafting in line with the trajectory of Kuwaiti justice.
In a press statement issued on Saturday, the Council noted that the number of appeals resolved during the 2024/2025 judicial year totaled 14,816, according to statistics released by the Court of Cassation.
It added that, according to the statistics, the number of registered cases amounted to 9,482 during the 2025/2026 judicial year, compared to 13,991 cases during the 2024/2025 judicial year.
The statement clarified that the Court of Cassation continues to address the issue of appeal backlog, in implementation of and compliance with the high directives of His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and in fulfillment of the plan approved by the Council in this regard.
