Qatar announces full resumption of maritime navigation

The Qatari Ministry of Transport announced the full resumption of all maritime navigation activities for various types of vessels and marine transport, effective Sunday, following a period of partial suspension.

In a statement, the ministry urged all seafarers and marine transport operators to comply with applicable maritime regulations and instructions, and to ensure the readiness of safety and security equipment before departure and throughout voyages, thereby safeguarding lives and property.

In a related development, navigation data showed a gradual resumption of liquefied natural gas (LNG) tanker traffic linked to Qatar through the Strait of Hormuz, after a brief halt lasting approximately two weeks, signaling the return of gas export operations from the Ras Laffan facility, the world’s largest LNG export hub.
