State media reported that Iran executed three people on Sunday, accusing them of participating in armed unrest during the January 2026 protests and carrying out operations on behalf of Israel and the United States.
These executions are the latest in a series of death sentences carried out by Iran in recent months in the wake of last January’s protests, including the execution of individuals accused of ties to Israel and the United States.
According to the judiciary, Hassan Dioband, Hamid Kazemi, and Reza Zanjani were accused of using firearms, hand grenades, and incendiary devices, setting fire to public facilities, and damaging a substation in Karaj, which caused power outages in some areas.
The judiciary stated that Dioband was arrested on January 11 after investigations revealed he was a suspect in attacks on public property and incitement to violence.
