Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Allaq issued orders on Saturday to cancel contracts with three companies operating at Mosul International Airport due to their ties to armed groups, and to transfer those services to international firms.
A well-informed source stated that the prime minister ordered the cancellation of Sky Plus’s contract to lease airport counters at Mosul Airport, citing its links to armed groups and directing that the service be handed over to global companies.
The source added that the prime minister also ordered the termination of the lease agreement for the uncovered internal parking area at Mosul International Airport with the company Sama Al-Matar, due to its connections to armed groups, with the service to be awarded to international firms, according to the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
He further noted that the prime minister also directed the cancellation of the taxi office lease at Mosul International Airport with the company Al-Faisal Al-Shamikh, again on account of its ties to armed groups, and that the contract would be transferred to international companies.
