In a press release, the CMA added that the activities held at the Australian University in Kuwait between November 2 and 5 included five awareness workshops targeting various segments of the university’s student body, as well as a dedicated awareness booth at the university campus. The booth provided an introduction to the Authority and highlighted various aspects of its activities, while also showcasing its key awareness outputs.
The Authority noted that the event included an overview of the Authority’s background, the circumstances and rationale behind its establishment, and its objectives. It presented the Authority’s vision and specific goals as outlined in its founding law, particularly the regulation of securities activities in a manner characterized by fairness, competitiveness, and transparency, and the protection of participants in such activities.
The event also addressed the development of capital markets and their investment instruments, with efforts to align with global best practices. It aimed to raise public awareness regarding securities activities, the benefits and risks associated with securities investment, and the related obligations, while encouraging the growth of the sector.
The Authority clarified that it presented its key roles and the responsibilities of its various sectors, covering regulatory, legislative, supervisory, and awareness aspects. This included details on the nature, objectives, and targets of its national project to enhance financial inclusion and investment awareness, as well as a brief overview of the key achievements accomplished in these areas since the Authority’s establishment up to its most recent fiscal year.

The Authority set up an informational booth that displayed various awareness materials via an electronic screen, covering the Authority’s roles, responsibilities, and functions in the broader economy and specifically in securities activities.
The Authority emphasized that these activities are part of its national project launched in 2017, aimed at enhancing financial awareness and investment culture among various societal segments, particularly within the educational and university sectors. This enables the CMA to fulfill its mandate of strengthening the foundations of financial inclusion, which has become essential for all economies and societies today.
