The Ministry of Health held the first “360” Orthopedic Surgery and Trauma Conference today, Friday, organized by the Kuwaiti Association of Orthopedic Surgery, with the participation of a select group of doctors and specialists from Kuwait and abroad. The event is accompanied by the fourth annual scientific research day for the Kuwaiti Board of Orthopedic Surgery.

In a speech delivered on behalf of the conference patron, Minister of Health Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadi, Assistant Undersecretary for Public Health Affairs Dr. Al-Mundhir Al-Hasawi emphasized the Ministry’s strong support and attention to specialized scientific conferences, describing them as interactive platforms that bring together medical experts to exchange experiences and develop clinical and practical skills. This ultimately leads to formulating realistic and actionable scientific recommendations that contribute to enhancing the quality of medical services in the country.

Dr. Al-Hasawi stressed the Ministry’s continuous commitment to developing the healthcare system and keeping pace with the latest global medical advancements, particularly through expanding the adoption of robotic and specialized surgeries, and establishing specialized trauma centers across various healthcare facilities in Kuwait.

He noted that the concept of comprehensive and integrated care for accident victims begins at the moment of injury, continues through emergency, surgical, and intensive care units, and concludes with rehabilitation, recovery, and return to normal life.

He highlighted the importance of coordination and integration among various surgical specialties, such as general surgery, vascular surgery, and otolaryngology, to serve patient health and safety.

He commended the outstanding outcomes and qualified national cadres of Kuwaiti Board graduates in orthopedic surgery and their vital role in the healthcare system, extending congratulations to the doctors who recently passed the Board examinations and urging them to continue their dedication and commitment to serving the country and patients.

For his part, Dr. Ali Mirdashti, President of the Kuwaiti Association of Orthopedic Surgery, affirmed the Association’s commitment to supporting continuing medical education and strengthening cooperation frameworks and knowledge exchange with various local and international medical associations and societies, contributing to the development of medical practices and elevating patient care standards in Kuwait.

He explained that the two-day conference serves as a specialized scientific platform bringing together a select group of medical experts to exchange knowledge and experiences, and to stay updated on the latest clinical developments, with the aim of enhancing the capabilities of national cadres and improving the quality of services provided to accident victims and fracture patients.

On his part, Conference Chairman Dr. Ali Bahman stated that holding the conference amid exceptional circumstances and rapid challenges underscores the importance of strengthening cooperation and integration among various medical specialties, and unifying efforts to serve patients and Kuwait’s healthcare system.

He clarified that the conference concept was launched to embody the principle of teamwork in treating injuries and fractures, and to build an integrated system based on knowledge exchange and a team spirit, emphasizing that serving the country is a shared responsibility requiring sincerity, diligence, and prioritizing patient welfare above all else.

He noted that what distinguishes the conference’s proceedings is its coincidence with the organization of the scientific research day for the Kuwaiti Orthopedic Surgery Program, supporting young doctors and encouraging them to engage in research and innovation, noting that young medical cadres represent the fundamental pillar of the country’s medical future.
