(KUNA) — Kuwait’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, Shuraid Al-Muwasharji, affirmed Kuwait’s absolute solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, its steadfast support for the Kingdom, and its backing of all measures taken to safeguard its sovereignty, security, and stability.
This statement came in Kuwait’s address delivered by Minister Al-Muwasharji during his participation in the 20th meeting of the heads of the Consultative, Parliamentary, National, and Assemblies of Kuwait, held today, Wednesday, via video conferencing at the invitation of Dr. Abdullah Al al-Sheikh, Chairman of the Shura Council of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Office of the Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs stated in a press release that Minister Al-Muwasharji reiterated Kuwait’s firm position condemning the attacks carried out by the Houthi militia against the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, emphasizing that the security of the Kingdom is an integral part of Kuwait’s security and that of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states.
He called on the international community to assume its responsibilities in confronting these attacks and holding those responsible accountable.
He stressed the importance of enhancing Gulf solidarity, intensifying coordination and consultation among GCC member states, and supporting diplomatic efforts aimed at de-escalation to preserve the region’s security and stability and prevent further escalation.
He affirmed the necessity of safeguarding the security and freedom of maritime navigation, as well as the integrity of international waterways, and rejecting any attack or threat targeting commercial vessels or endangering the safety of sea routes, given their strategic importance in ensuring the smooth flow of international trade, energy supplies, and global supply chains.
Al-Muwasharji reiterated Kuwait’s firm stance supporting the rights of the brotherly Palestinian people and condemning the attacks by Israeli occupation authorities, emphasizing the need for an immediate halt to these attacks, protection of civilians, and efforts toward achieving a just, comprehensive, and lasting peace that guarantees the Palestinian people their right to establish their independent state on the June 4, 1967, borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
He highlighted the importance of unifying Gulf perspectives and coordinating positions on priority issues in international forums and organizations, thereby enhancing the presence of GCC member states, supporting their interests, and contributing to consolidating international peace and security.
In conclusion, Al-Muwasharji expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for hosting the meeting and to the GCC Secretariat General for its continuous efforts in supporting joint Gulf cooperation.
