The College of Science at Kuwait University organized the “Science Expo 2026,” a two-day event aimed at promoting scientific culture and introducing students and the general public to scientific disciplines, their practical applications, and the career opportunities available to the college’s graduates.
Dr. Haider Bahbahani, Acting Dean of the College, stated that the expo is held annually under the organization of the Assistant Dean’s Office for Student Affairs, and this year it is hosted under the auspices of the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences.
He added that the expo serves students and faculty members, helping them become familiar with the career opportunities available to graduates of the College of Science across various specializations. He praised the participation of entities from both the public and private sectors, which represent community partnerships that support academic work and enhance communication with societal institutions, thereby benefiting students throughout their university journey and paving the way for their post-graduation phase.
Bahbahani emphasized the university administration’s commitment, led by University President Dr. Dina Al-Milhim, to hosting such expos that provide students with opportunities to engage with various sectors of society, noting that the expo has attracted unprecedented and significant attendance.
This year’s “Science Expo 2026” centers on geology (Earth sciences), highlighting the Earth’s composition, its natural resources, geological phenomena, and the importance of this field in environmental, scientific, and developmental domains.
The expo aims to provide an interactive space for learning about scientific concepts and applications, strengthen communication between academic institutions and society, and encourage students to explore and engage with science and scientific research.
