The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Kuwait’s strong condemnation and denunciation of the attack targeting the liquefied natural gas (LNG) tanker “Al-Maydah,” owned by QatarEnergy LNG, as it transited the waters of the Arabian Gulf. It reaffirmed Kuwait’s firm rejection of such acts, which pose a serious threat to the security and safety of maritime navigation and global energy supplies.
The Ministry emphasized the necessity of respecting the rules of international law and ensuring freedom of maritime navigation and the safety of ships and their crews. It warned of the potential environmental and economic risks stemming from attacks on energy tankers, and the serious repercussions such incidents could have on the security and stability of the region.
