WhatsApp Adds Four New Features to Organize Group Chats - Sarmad

WhatsApp announced the launch of four new group chat features aimed at facilitating message tracking and interactions, while providing additional tools for organizing and sharing content among group members.

According to a report by the tech site 9to5Mac, the features announced by WhatsApp via its official blog include enhanced chat filters, expanded message pinning options, the ability to share previous messages with new members, and the sharing of status updates within groups.

The first feature adds “Mentions and Replies” to chat filters, allowing users to view groups containing unread messages that mention them or direct replies to their messages, including those sent to all group members using the (@all) tag.

The second feature allows messages to be pinned in group chats indefinitely, whereas previously the options were limited to 24 hours, seven days, or 30 days, helping to keep important information visible to members.

The third feature enables sharing previous messages with a new member after they join the group. Users can now tap the member’s name and send recent messages to them, whereas this option was previously available only when adding the member to the group.

The fourth feature allows sharing status updates with a specific group, enabling members to view and interact with posted statuses, as well as publish their own updates within the group. These statuses will disappear after 24 hours.

WhatsApp noted that the new features will be rolled out gradually, so they may not appear for all users simultaneously, with updates expected to reach more devices in the coming period.

These updates are part of WhatsApp’s ongoing efforts to develop communication tools and provide more options that help users manage their group chats and track their content easily and effectively.
