Ahmadi Governor and Chairman of the Green Urban Development Initiatives Committee, Sheikh Hamoud Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, stated that the committee discussed six initiatives submitted by various private companies, cooperative societies, and individuals. These initiatives pertain to ornamental landscaping of several roundabouts in residential areas, planting and beautifying the central island of a main street in a residential city, and environmental conservation and sustainable development efforts.
Sheikh Hamoud Al-Jaber, in a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) following his chairing of the committee meeting on Thursday, explained that the committee aims, through coordination with relevant government entities and initiators, to create a beautiful urban environment and a more sustainable future for the State of Kuwait.
He added that the committee also aims to work on implementing initiatives that combine environmental considerations with support for green spaces, in order to solidify the concept of community partnership among government entities, private sector companies, and individuals to achieve sustainable development.
He noted that the committee discussed these initiatives in its meeting and verified that some of them met the technical requirements for implementation set by the relevant ministries and government entities. However, the decision on some initiatives was postponed at the request of committee members, who are representatives of the relevant ministries and government entities.

He pointed out that the initiatives discussed by the committee in its meeting will be referred to the Public Services Committee of the Council of Ministers for a decision.
Sheikh Hamoud Al-Jaber called on all initiators from government and private companies, cooperative societies, and individuals to submit their initiatives to the committee through the committee’s electronic platform at https://gudi.gov.kw/.
He expressed his sincere gratitude and appreciation to all initiators for their contribution to developing and beautifying agricultural works on main streets and residential areas, highlighting aesthetic aspects, painting main vehicle bridges and pedestrian bridges on highways, and creating an urban environment that achieves sustainable development and preserves the environment.
