Sheikh Jaraah Jaber Al-Ahmad, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, met today, Wednesday, with His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan, the Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs, during his official visit to Riyadh.
During the meeting, Sheikh Jaraah Jaber Al-Ahmad reiterated Kuwait’s strong condemnation and denunciation of the terrorist attacks carried out by the Houthi militia against several areas in the Kingdom, as well as their attempts to target Makkah Al-Mukarramah and Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah. He emphasized that these heinous attacks constitute a blatant violation of the Kingdom’s sovereignty, a flagrant breach of international law and international humanitarian law, a clear infringement on the sanctity and religious status of Islamic holy sites, and a provocation of Muslims’ sentiments around the world.
He stressed that the continuation and recurrence of these organized hostile acts, which involve targeting civilian objects and vital facilities, represent a serious escalation and a direct threat to the security of the Kingdom and the stability of the region. Furthermore, they pose grave risks to the safety of civilians and the security of air navigation, necessitating a firm international stance that ensures accountability for those responsible for these attacks.
Kuwait reaffirmed its absolute solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its support for all measures taken to safeguard the Kingdom’s sovereignty, protect its security, and ensure its stability. He emphasized that the security of the Kingdom is an integral part of Kuwait’s security and the security of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.
The two sides also reviewed the deep-rooted historical ties and the strong fraternal relations between the two countries and their brotherly peoples, reaffirming their shared commitment to continuing to enhance bilateral cooperation and coordination frameworks across various fields and at all levels. This aligns with the directives of the wise leaderships of both countries and meets their aspirations for greater integration and joint cooperation.
The meeting also addressed the latest regional developments and their implications for the security and stability of the region. Both sides emphasized the importance of continuing Kuwaiti-Saudi consultations and coordination across various dimensions, and intensifying joint efforts to confront current challenges, amid the delicate circumstances the region is undergoing. This is driven by a shared destiny and common interests, as well as the commitment of the two brotherly countries to consolidate the foundations of regional security and stability.
