Dr. Fadel Aziz, Acting Dean of Admissions and Registration at Kuwait University, announced that electronic applications for admission to the university for the second semester of the 2026-2027 academic year will be accepted from December 16 to 23 next month.
In a press statement, Dr. Aziz clarified that applications are open to Kuwaiti students and citizens of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries who meet the admission requirements and are graduates of the Unified System, the Religious Institute, American schools, and British schools. This applies specifically to graduates of Kuwaiti schools.
He stated that admission for Kuwaiti students to all university faculties is based on the equivalent grade point average determined for each major, calculated according to the results of academic aptitude tests and the secondary school certificate percentage, with the exception of the Faculty of Science, where admission is based solely on the secondary school certificate percentage.
He added that the minimum required percentage for the secondary school certificate is 70% for the scientific stream and 78% for the literary stream, provided all other admission conditions are met. He emphasized that no application with a percentage below these minimum thresholds will be accepted.
Dr. Aziz explained that applications for the categories eligible for electronic submission will be submitted through the electronic admission system page at the following link: http://portal.ku.edu.kw/admission
He urged students to review their admission applications to identify the required documents based on the type of secondary school certificate and the admission category. He confirmed that the university reserves the right to cancel the admission of any student if the required documents are not submitted or if it is proven that the data on which admission was granted was inaccurate, in accordance with the basic rules of admission and transfer at Kuwait University.
Dr. Aziz noted that the minimum admission thresholds for Kuwaiti students with special needs who meet the conditions are 65% for the scientific stream and 72% for the literary stream.
He called on applicants to review the instructions and guidelines published on the university website and to adhere to the announced application deadlines, emphasizing that no applications will be accepted after the expiration of the specified period. He wished all students success.
