The Acting Director of the Meteorology Department, Derrar Al-Ali, stated that the country experienced scattered light rainfall since Sunday morning, which is expected to continue in the coming days. The chances of rain will increase next Thursday, with occasional thunderstorms, accompanied by reduced visibility due to fog.
Al-Ali, in a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), said that weather maps and numerical models indicate that the country will be affected by an extension of a surface low-pressure system, coinciding with an upper-level low-pressure system. This will lead to the proliferation of low and mid-level clouds, bringing scattered light rainfall that may occasionally be thunderous.
He clarified that winds will be variable in direction, shifting to light to moderate southeasterly winds that may strengthen in some areas. He noted that the chances of light rain will continue to vary over the coming days.
He added that humidity will rise and persist throughout the week, with fog forming at night, particularly in coastal and agricultural areas, leading to reduced visibility. The chances of scattered rain will increase next Thursday, with occasional thunderstorms and increased wind activity.
Al-Ali urged citizens and residents to follow the weather bulletin via the Department’s official website, its mobile application, and its social media platforms to stay updated on the latest weather developments.
