Russia Condemns Terrorist Attack on Church in Jordan, Reaffirms Solidarity with the Kingdom - Sarmad

Russia expressed its condemnation on Saturday of the attack that took place inside a church in Karak Governorate, southern Jordan, which resulted in the deaths and injuries of several people. The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a press release that “Moscow conveyed its condolences to Jordan, its leadership and people, and to the families of the victims who lost their lives in the terrorist attack targeting a church in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.” The ministry affirmed Russia’s full solidarity with Jordan and its steadfast support in confronting terrorism and extremism, and in countering any actions that threaten the security and stability of societies or violate the sanctity of places of worship and the inviolability of human life. The Russian Foreign Ministry reiterated Moscow’s strong condemnation and denunciation of attacks on religious sites and their visitors, emphasizing that such acts are “unacceptable,” and stressing the importance of enhancing international cooperation to combat terrorism and extremism, safeguard security and stability, and consolidate the values of coexistence, tolerance, and peace.
