Erdogan: Turkey Strives to Pave the Way for Peace Through Diplomacy - Sarmad

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Friday that his country is striving to pave the way for peace, drawing on its experience in prisoner exchange operations between Russia and Ukraine and its mediation efforts in Africa.

This came in a video message addressed by President Erdogan to the Ninth Istanbul Mediation Conference, in which he stated that “the Turkish city, which has brought together peoples and cultures over the centuries, has today become one of the world’s centers of diplomacy.”

He noted that the United Nations General Assembly is holding its sessions this year under the theme “Rebuilding Trust,” emphasizing that “a system in which the will of more than 190 countries is subject to the whims of five countries is neither just nor capable of establishing full trust.”
