US President Donald Trump reiterated his assertion that the war against Iran will end soon, one way or another.
Trump said during a campaign rally on Thursday evening in Iowa: “I don’t care much about how the war ends, but it is certain that it will end very soon.”
He added that he no longer has anyone to negotiate with in Tehran following the targeting of Iran’s leadership levels.
As for the rise in oil prices, which has become a highly influential factor in the upcoming midterm congressional elections, Trump clarified that the volume of oil that passed through the Strait of Hormuz last week exceeded what had passed during any previous period, including the pre-war era. He affirmed that oil prices would drop further once the war in Iran comes to an end.
Meanwhile, he justified his administration’s actions, stating that they had to move to prevent Tehran from acquiring a nuclear weapon.
