Doha and Ankara announced on Wednesday the signing of a multilateral memorandum of understanding among the defense ministries of Turkey, Qatar, Pakistan, and Indonesia, aimed at encouraging defense cooperation and enhancing the military capabilities of the four countries.
The Qatari Ministry of Defense stated in a press release that the memorandum, signed in the capital Doha under the name “Badr Memorandum,” reflects a commitment to strengthening joint cooperation and developing strategic partnerships.
The ministry clarified that the memorandum seeks cooperation in the field of defense manufacturing, enhancing defense capabilities among the four countries, as well as collaboration in technical defense training and research and development.
The Qatari Ministry of Defense noted that the memorandum carries significant economic importance for the signatory states, adding that “each country’s capabilities in defense manufacturing will be utilized to achieve cooperation, integration, and the development of defense industries, thereby meeting the needs of allied and friendly nations.”
For its part, the Turkish Ministry of Defense explained that the memorandum aims to encourage cooperation in military production and enhance the military capabilities of the four countries, noting that the agreement will contribute to developing solutions and forming industrial sectors aligned with the evolution of modern defense systems.
