The Iranian Revolutionary Guard has threatened to target internet cables under the Strait of Hormuz if hostilities escalate again.
The Revolutionary Guard announced that “seven major internet cables pass under Hormuz, and the enemy should know that we have new targets.”
Spokesman for the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, Hossein Mobahi, said on Monday that Tehran does not rule out the possibility of war breaking out, warning that Iran’s response this time would be far more severe.
Mobahi added, “The United States will face very serious problems this time, and the world will witness a severe energy crisis.”
He stressed that if the region becomes unsafe for Iran, “there will be no safe place left in it,” noting that “Tehran will resort to surprise tactics if hostilities escalate again.”
