Emir and French President Attend Signing of Kuwait-France Agreements - Sarmad

In the presence of His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, French President Emmanuel Macron, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Sabah, and His Highness Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Salim Al-Sabah, Prime Minister, agreements were signed today at Bayan Palace between Kuwait and France.

The agreements included:

1. A Letter of Intent on Defense Cooperation between the Kuwait Ministry of Defense and the French Ministry of Armed Forces and Veterans, signed by Sheikh Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Kuwait’s Minister of Defense, on behalf of the Kuwaiti government, and by Catherine Vautrin, France’s Minister of Armed Forces and Veterans, on behalf of the French government.

2. A Declaration of Intent between the Kuwaiti and French governments on cooperation in civil aviation, signed by Sheikh Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Kuwait’s Minister of Defense, on behalf of the Kuwaiti government, and by Jean-Noël Barrot, France’s Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs, on behalf of the French government.

3. An exploratory cooperation declaration in the fields of data and artificial intelligence between the Kuwait State Minister for Communications and Information Technology and the French company Bertem, signed by Omar Al-Omar, Kuwait’s State Minister for Communications and Information Technology and Acting Minister of Media and Culture, on behalf of the Kuwaiti government, and by Charles-Henri Baud, Chief Executive Officer of Bertem, on behalf of the company.

4. A Declaration of Intent between the Kuwaiti and French governments to enhance cooperation in academic, scientific, and technical fields, signed by Sheikh Jaraah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Kuwait’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, and by Jean-Noël Barrot, France’s Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs, on behalf of the French government.

5. A Declaration of Intent between the Kuwaiti and French governments on cooperation in promoting direct investment, signed by Sheikh Dr. Meshal Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Director General of the Direct Investment Promotion Authority, on behalf of the Kuwaiti government, and by Jean-Noël Barrot, France’s Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs, on behalf of the French government.

6. A Declaration of Intent between the Public Authority for Investment in Kuwait and Airbus on strategic cooperation in the aviation sector, signed by Sheikh Saud Al-Sabah, Managing Member of the Public Authority for Investment, on behalf of the Kuwaiti government, and by Benoît de Saint-Aubert, Vice President of Sales for Commercial Aircraft at Airbus, on behalf of Airbus.

7. A joint Declaration of Intent among the Kuwait Public Authority for Investment, the Kuwait Ministry of Health, and the Gustave Roussy International Foundation, signed by Sheikh Saud Al-Sabah, Managing Member of the Public Authority for Investment, and Sheikh Dr. Salman Khalifa Al-Sabah, Deputy Minister of Health, on behalf of the Kuwaiti government, and by Fabrice Barlesse, President of the Foundation, on behalf of the institution.

8. A Memorandum of Understanding between the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences and Airbus Africa and the Middle East, signed by Dr. Amira Farhan, Director General of the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences, on behalf of Kuwait, and by Gabriel Semelas, Managing Director of Airbus Africa and the Middle East and Head of the Africa and Middle East Region, on behalf of Airbus.

The signing ceremonies between the two countries have concluded.
