Omar Al-Omar, Kuwait’s Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology and Acting Minister of Information and Culture, held talks on Sunday with Saudi Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Engineer Abdullah Al-Sawwah, to explore ways to enhance bilateral cooperation and develop joint relations in the fields of communications, information technology, and digital transformation.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 30th session of the Ministerial Committee for Post and Telecommunications of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, held in the Bahraini capital, Manama.
The discussion highlighted the deep-rooted fraternal and historical ties between Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, which continue to evolve across various sectors. It also addressed ways to broaden the scope of cooperation, exchange expertise and experiences in the communications and IT sector, reflecting the depth of bilateral relations and serving the shared interests of the two brotherly nations.
During the meeting, the parties reviewed areas of joint cooperation in developing telecommunications infrastructure, advancing digital transformation, and leveraging modern technologies and innovation. They also emphasized the importance of continued coordination between the relevant authorities in both countries to support joint technical initiatives and projects, thereby contributing to the development and efficiency of digital services.

Attending the meeting from the Kuwaiti side were Dr. Khaled Al-Zamil, Chairman of the Public Authority for Communications and Information Technology; Eng. Meshal Al-Zaid, Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport; and Dr. Ahmed Al-Husseini, Director of the Public Relations Department at the Ministry of Transport.
