Lebanese President Joseph Aoun has ordered the arrest of Hezbollah officials in connection with the truck bomb case, according to the Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar.
The newspaper reported on Saturday that President Aoun had instructed the military intelligence agency to expand its investigation into the truck bomb incident.
It added that the Distinguished Prosecutor General, Rami al-Hajj, subsequently issued judicial directives to security agencies to arrest Hussein al-Abdallah, head of Hezbollah’s Liaison and Coordination Committee, and his deputy, Ali Ayoub, on the grounds that they were aware of the truck bomb and were responsible for it, with the aim of identifying all other officials involved.
