Syrian authorities announced the arrest of Ali Kayali, one of the main figures responsible for the massacres during the Syrian revolution.
The Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported that the General Intelligence Directorate arrested Ali Kayali, known by the alias “Ma’raj Oural,” while he was attempting to flee across the border.
According to the agency, Kayali had formed an armed militia that participated alongside the forces of the ousted regime in suppressing the Syrian people during the years of the revolution, and carried out several massacres in various areas, most notably the Al-Bayda and Ras al-Nab’ massacres in Baniyas in 2013.
