The official spokesperson for the Coalition Forces, the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen, Brigadier General Turki Al-Maliki, stated that the Joint Forces Command of the Coalition has confirmed that the Houthi terrorist militia is utilizing civilian assets and critical infrastructure to fuel its war effort. These include the Al-Sabahah Central Power Station in Sana’a, underground fuel storage depots, and fuel tanks and docks designated for the transfer and unloading of fuel in Al-Hudaydah, Sana’a, and Dhamar. The Houthi terrorist militia uses these facilities to directly support its terrorist military operations and to deprive the Yemeni people of access to resources that should legitimately be dedicated to meeting their needs.
He said that the Houthi terrorist militia has fully exploited these sites to support its war effort by supplying its arsenal of missiles and drones, which threaten the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and endanger the safety of airports, ports, and commercial vessels in the Red Sea. This has contributed significantly to carrying out hostile attacks against civilians and civilian objects, as well as to planning imminent attacks against civilian targets in the Kingdom and against commercial ships in international waterways.
He clarified that the operation focused on neutralizing the capabilities of the Houthi militia that it uses to threaten the Kingdom, Yemen, and the southern Red Sea and its waterways.
He noted that the Coalition forces reaffirm their strict commitment to international humanitarian law and have taken all feasible precautions to avoid causing incidental loss of life or injury to civilians or damage to civilian objects during the planning and execution of this operation.
He stressed that the Houthis must immediately cease all terrorist operations targeting civilians and civilian objects, including airports, ports, oil facilities, and infrastructure.
