A 16-year-old girl was subjected to sexual harassment by a robot in the German city of Cologne.

Police in the western German city reported that the robot touched the girl’s body and made sexually suggestive movements. Authorities are currently investigating the incident, suspecting it involved a sexually motivated insult.

The girl was standing in front of a fast-food restaurant on the night of Saturday to Sunday with two friends when the red and gold robot approached her from behind. According to Al Arabiya Net, the suspected owner of the device, a 16-year-old from nearby Wegberg, and his 19-year-old companion, allegedly filmed the incident and broadcast it live on social media, commenting on it during the stream.

Police soon apprehended the two suspects near the scene. They recovered the 1.20-meter-tall robot from the trunk of a car, where the younger suspect had allegedly placed it. In addition to the robot, police seized the mobile phones belonging to the suspects.

Authorities are now determining whether the robot’s movements were intentional.
