Trump Suggests Naming Atlantic or Pacific Ocean After Him! - Sarmad

US President Donald Trump proposed renaming the Atlantic or Pacific Ocean “Trump Ocean” or “Ocean of the Americas.”

Trump’s remarks came during a campaign rally in Clarksville, Tennessee, on Saturday, as part of his push ahead of the midterm elections scheduled for November 3.

Addressing the crowd, Trump said, “We need a river. We need an ocean,” suggesting that either ocean could be given a new name. He added, “We call it Trump Ocean or Ocean of the Americas, something like that,” to laughter and applause, according to The Washington Post.

These comments followed Trump’s references to previous decisions to rename the Gulf of Mexico as the “Gulf of America” and Lake Ontario as the “Lake of America.” The Washington Post reported that the US president also hinted at his desire to rename a major ocean and river before leaving office, saying, “Before I leave, I think we should have an ocean. And we need a great river.”

In August, Trump renamed Lake Ontario, which lies between New York state and Canada, as the “Lake of America,” amid tensions with Canadian leaders over trade and tariffs.

He also floated the idea of renaming the US state of New Mexico as “New America,” stating in a video endorsing a Republican congressional candidate there: “I won’t push this, but a lot of people really like it,” noting that the decision rests with the state’s residents.

During Saturday’s rally, Trump ruled out renaming the Hudson River, which flows through New York, as well as the Mississippi River, which forms part of Tennessee’s western border, citing his electoral performance in the state. He said, “I love Mississippi. We won that state by a big margin.”
