Occupation Army Claims Strike on Syrian Target in Raid on Syria-Lebanon Border

The Israeli occupation army announced on Friday that it targeted Syrian Yusuf Ali Al-Hassoun in an airstrike on the Syrian-Lebanese border, accusing him of planning attacks against its forces in southern Syria under Iranian direction.

In a statement published by its spokesperson, Ella Warhaftig, on the “X” platform, the army said Al-Hassoun had been working to “push forward terrorist plans” against Israeli citizens and its forces operating in southern Syria, “under the direction of the Iranian terrorist regime,” as it described.

The statement added that Al-Hassoun had worked over the past year to carry out plots against Israeli forces, which it said were thwarted. It clarified that these plots included launching rigged drones and rocket fire toward Israeli troops in southern Syria.

The statement did not provide details on the exact location of the airstrike or its results, and no confirmed information has been released so far regarding Al-Hassoun’s fate.

The Israeli army affirmed that it would continue to work “at all times to eliminate immediate threats on all fronts.” It also emphasized its continued commitment to the agreement reached between Israel and Lebanon.

In Lebanon’s Bekaa region, a Lebanese security source reported that one person was killed and five others were injured on Friday in an Israeli drone strike on a car in the town of Houch Al-Sayed Ali in the Hermel area, near the Syrian border.
