South Korean President Oversees First Test of Locally Developed Hypersonic Missile - Sarmad

South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol oversaw the first test launch of a domestically developed hypersonic missile, according to a statement from the presidential office.
The missile test, which features a weapon capable of maneuvering and altering its trajectory mid-flight, comes days after North Korea announced that its leader, Kim Jong Un, also oversaw a test of a medium-range hypersonic missile.
Yoon wrote on Facebook: “Today, we successfully conducted the first test launch of a hypersonic missile developed using our own technologies, and I am truly proud of this achievement.”
The presidential office described the South Korean missile as a strategic gain for the country, adding that its unpredictable flight paths and exceptional speed enable it to strike targets with surprise.
