(KUNA) – Foreign Minister Sheikh Jaraah Jaber Al-Ahmad met today, Wednesday, with Slovak Foreign Minister Juroj Blanar, during the latter’s official visit to the State of Kuwait accompanied by a delegation.
The Foreign Ministry said in a press release that the meeting discussed the strong bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and ways to enhance and develop them in the interest of their shared objectives.
The statement conveyed Sheikh Jaraah Al-Sabah’s welcome of the Slovak government’s decision to reopen its embassy in Kuwait, emphasizing the importance of this step in strengthening Kuwaiti-Slovak relations and opening broader horizons for cooperation and joint coordination between the two friendly countries.
He noted that the two sides discussed regional and international developments and exchanged views on issues of mutual interest, foremost among them the developments in the region and diplomatic efforts aimed at de-escalation and enhancing security and stability.
The meeting also witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding on the establishment of political consultations between the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Slovak Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs.
