The official Iraqi News Agency reported that the Central Bank of Iraq set the exchange rate of the dinar at 1,520 against the US dollar on Wednesday.
A cabinet decision clarified that the exchange rate of the dollar against the dinar was adjusted to 1,500 dinars for the purchase price from the Ministry of Finance, and 1,510 dinars for the selling price to banks.
The Central Bank of Iraq set the dinar’s exchange rate at 1,520 against the dollar for the end user (the public).
This adjustment in the exchange rate comes as the Central Bank of Iraq reaffirms that it holds sufficient foreign reserves to meet requests for financing foreign trade, settling bank card transactions, and fulfilling travelers’ demands for cash dollars at the official rate.
