Cristiano Ronaldo Decides Not to Retire 'Internationally'.. After His Crisis with Jesus - Sarmad

Veteran Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo, forward for Saudi club Al Nassr, announced that he will not retire from international football following his dispute with his national team’s head coach, Jorge Jesus, during the current international break. He will be available to join Portugal’s training camp in November, offering an apology for his departure from the “Selisao” (the Brazilian-style nickname often used for Portugal’s national team) ahead of their European Nations League matches.

Despite accusing coach Jorge Jesus of breaking his promises twice, Ronaldo stated in a press release: “I will be available, as I have always been up to today, to compete and achieve victories for our national team.”

Cristiano had previously left his national team’s camp in Copenhagen ahead of the match against Denmark in the UEFA Nations League, amid controversy surrounding his relationship with coach Jorge Jesus.

Ronaldo’s decision came hours after a press conference held by the Portuguese coach, during which he addressed the status of the national team captain, confirming that the veteran star would not start against Denmark and that Gonçalo Ramos would be the first-choice striker, with Ronaldo’s participation to be determined based on match conditions.
