Interior Ministry: Two Individuals Arrested and Their Motorcycles Confiscated for Reckless Driving in Jahra - Sarmad

The Ministry of Interior stated in a press release that the General Directorate of Traffic, represented by the Security Control Department, succeeded in apprehending suspects in two separate incidents in the Al-Jahra region for riding bicycles in unauthorized areas, thereby endangering their own safety and that of other road users.
According to the Ministry’s statement, in the first incident, a patrol officer observed the first suspect recklessly riding a bicycle in an area not designated for such activity. When stopped, the suspect attempted to flee, collided with the patrol vehicle, and was subsequently apprehended.
In the second incident, another patrol officer observed the second suspect recklessly riding a bicycle in an unauthorized area, leading to his arrest.
The Ministry added that traffic violation tickets were issued against both suspects for riding bicycles in unauthorized areas, reckless driving, and endangering public safety. Additionally, a violation for failing to comply with stop orders and fleeing was recorded against the first suspect. He was transferred to the Central Prison, while the second suspect was referred to the Juvenile Protection Department, as he is a minor. Both bicycles were confiscated.
The General Directorate of Traffic warned bicycle riders against endangering their own safety and that of other road users, emphasizing that such behaviors and failure to comply with police orders will be met with strict enforcement of the law.
