Al-Zaidi: 5 factions agreed to hand over weapons, and three have already done so - Sarmad

Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi confirmed that five factions have agreed to hand over their weapons, noting that three of them have already surrendered their arms and that dialogue continues with the others.
This came during the Iraqi Prime Minister’s reception of tribal sheikhs and notables, as reported by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
Al-Zaidi stated that his government is striving to shield Iraq from the repercussions of regional conflicts, emphasizing that the stability of society and the people is the Iraqi government’s ultimate goal.
He added, “Iraqi blood is our responsibility, and it is our duty to protect all Iraqi lives.”
The Iraqi Prime Minister praised the tribes’ supportive stance toward the state and their contribution to maintaining order during difficult times, clarifying that the government had avoided imposing international isolation on Iraq.
He stressed that “no one will be allowed to weaken the state or threaten its existence,” affirming that “the government is committed to building and strengthening a state that honors Iraqis, and we are combating an approach that views the state as a private benefit at the expense of the interests of all segments of the Iraqi people.” He also noted that “the current economic crisis has significantly impacted the Iraqi economy.”
