Alliance: Our Operations Continue to Support the Yemeni Government and Armed Forces to Restore the State and End the Houthi Coup - Sarmad

The official spokesperson for the coalition forces, the “Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen,” Brigadier General Turki Al-Maliki, stated that the Joint Forces Command of the coalition continues to provide full operational support to the Yemeni Armed Forces, and remains steadfast in its support for the legitimate Yemeni government and the fraternal Yemeni people, in order to end the coup and restore the state and its national institutions to build Yemen’s future.

Brigadier General Al-Maliki clarified that the ongoing terrorist attacks and repeated practices by the Houthi militia, a terrorist group, against the sons of the fraternal Yemeni people—including internal blockades, forced displacement of citizens from their cities and villages, starvation, looting and dividing their resources, and diverting them to what they call the “war effort,” as well as insulting tribal elders and members and tearing apart the social fabric of Yemeni society across all its segments, terrorizing women, and recruiting children for their criminal project—constitute blatant violations that have brought calamities and suffering to Yemenis for many years.

Brigadier General Al-Maliki added that the Houthi militia’s terrorist attacks against the Kingdom, including attempts to target the Holy City of Mecca and the city of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), Medina, as well as the deliberate and systematic targeting of civilians and civilian infrastructure in several Saudi cities (Riyadh, Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jazan, Najran, Taif, and Yanbu), along with attempts to target Saudi vessels in the southern Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab Strait, necessitate the continuation of necessary and required measures to deter the hostile actions of the Houthi militia. These measures aim to protect the security and sovereignty of the Kingdom, as well as regional and international security.

Brigadier General Al-Maliki affirmed the Kingdom’s inherent right to defend its sovereignty and protect its security, and to take all operational measures to deter this militia and halt its grave violations, based on the Kingdom’s national responsibility toward the Two Holy Mosques, its citizens, its national endowments, and residents on its territory. He also emphasized the Kingdom’s continued support for Yemen and its fraternal people until the state and its institutions are restored, the Houthi terrorist militia is eliminated, and its threat to freedom of maritime navigation in the southern Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab Strait is ended. This threat constitutes an attack on Gulf national security, the Yemeni economy, international trade, the lifeline of the global economy, and regional and international security, as well as the national interests of all countries.
