FIFA Orders Qadsia to Pay $315,000 to Former Striker 'Kahraba' - Sarmad

FIFA Orders Qadsia to Pay $315,000 to Former Striker 'Kahraba' - Sarmad

FIFA has revealed the details of its ruling in favor of former Egyptian international striker Mahmoud Abdelmonem “Kharbaya” in his dispute with Kuwaiti club Al-Qadsia.

Kharbaya unilaterally terminated his contract with Al-Qadsia due to delayed financial payments, deciding to return to his former club, Enppi, last February.

Kharbaya joined Al-Qadsia in August 2025 on a contract valid until the end of the 2025/2026 season, for a fee of $500,000, before his residency crisis in Kuwait escalated.

Kharbaya complained to Al-Qadsia about being detained in Kuwait due to the unresolved status of his legal residency, holding the club responsible for failing to provide the necessary documents to obtain a work permit.

On January 17, 2026, Kharbaya’s agent warned Al-Qadsia regarding the delay in paying his November and December 2025 salaries, totaling $90,000, before the outstanding amount rose to $135,000 when the January salary became due.

After the 15-day deadline passed without payment from Al-Qadsia, Kharbaya terminated his contract on February 2, moving to Enppi, for whom he played eight matches in the second half of last season and scored one goal.

The “Yalla Kora” website published the details of FIFA’s ruling today, stating that the Dispute Resolution Chamber considered Kharbaya’s contract termination “for just cause,” citing delayed salaries and the written notice submitted by the player and his agent, while rejecting Al-Qadsia management’s justifications related to financial liquidity issues.

According to documents circulated by Egyptian newspapers today, Sunday, FIFA ordered the Kuwaiti club’s management to pay Kharbaya $135,000 in unpaid salaries, plus an additional $180,000 in compensation, with a 5% annual interest rate, totaling $315,000.

Al-Qadsia has a 45-day deadline to settle the aforementioned amounts; failure to comply could result in a ban on registering new players for up to three consecutive transfer windows.
