Qarqash: We Adhere to Peaceful Resolution of the Issue of the Three Islands Occupied by Iran - Sarmad

Anwar Gargash, the UAE’s diplomatic advisor to the president, stated that Iranian Supreme Leader’s advisor Ali Akbar Velayati’s criticism of the UAE’s statement at the United Nations regarding its three occupied islands—Greater Tunb, Lesser Tunb, and Abu Musa—constitutes a political stance refuted by facts and documents underpinning the UAE’s assertion of its rights.

Gargash, in a post on the X platform, added, “Our approach is clear and firm: resolving the dispute peacefully through direct bilateral negotiations or by referring the matter to the International Court of Justice.”

He further stated, “We will continue to assert our legitimate rights, steadfastly and responsibly, until a peaceful resolution is achieved in accordance with international law.”
