Social Security: Continuation of Pensions and Frozen Shares Due to Citizenship Revocation - Sarmad

The Minister of State for Economic Affairs and Investment, acting Minister of Commerce and Industry, Abdulaziz Al-Marzouq, issued a decision regarding the continuation of payments of suspended allowances due to the revocation of Kuwaiti citizenship.
Article One of the decision, published in the official gazette “Kuwait Today” in its Sunday edition, states: “The suspended allowances of deceased insured persons or pensioners whose Kuwaiti citizenship was revoked shall continue to be paid to eligible beneficiaries, effective from the date of suspension, in accordance with the provisions of Article 13, paragraph 4, of the Kuwaiti Citizenship Law, provided that the name of the deceased (beneficiary) is included in the lists prepared by the Supreme Committee for Kuwaiti Citizenship Verification.”
Article Two stipulates that the provisions of the aforementioned Social Insurance Law shall apply to beneficiaries of this decision, except for Articles 73 and 75 thereof. The marriage grant stipulated in Article 71 of the same law shall not be paid to daughters, sisters, or nieces who are eligible for the allowances when payments are suspended due to marriage.
The annual increase provided for in Law No. 25 of 2001, amending certain provisions of the Social Insurance Law and increasing pensions, shall not apply to the allowances reinstated under this decision.
Article Three clarifies that the Public Institution for Social Insurance shall be responsible for implementing the provisions of this decision. Article Four stipulates that this decision shall be published in the official gazette and shall take effect one month after its publication.
