Disney grants Netflix license to stream a selection of films and series - Sarmad

Disney and Netflix announced that Disney has granted Netflix a license to a selection of films and television series, including the current installments of the Ice Age franchise, as well as the series Percy Jackson and the Olympians and Will Trent.

This deal expands Netflix’s access to Disney-owned content as the streaming platform broadens its library through licensing agreements, including a deal signed in July with AMC Global Media to make The Walking Dead available on its service.

The first two seasons of Disney+’s original series Percy Jackson and the Olympians will be available globally on Netflix starting October 4 for a period of three months.

Additionally, all five Ice Age films will be available globally on Netflix for three months ahead of the theatrical release of Ice Age: Boiling Point in early next year.

The agreement also includes a curated selection of Disney and Pixar films, such as Soul, Elemental, and Raya and the Last Dragon, which will be available globally on Netflix starting in early 2027, with varying release dates and regions.

Disney stated that films bearing its brands will remain largely exclusive to its own streaming platforms and television channels.
